Course Information

The P.A.L.S. Infants course is for puppies/dogs who have completed their P.A.L.S. Nursery course with Cardiff Canine Citizens. This course should be great fun and the dogs will build on previously taught behaviours but we will be challenging them with new skills. Puppies will be ‘working’ for the majority of the time with little down time for them to become bored! We will be looking at some of the Wag It Games foundation behaviours. We will also cover clicker and target training. Your puppy will love it I’m sure! We aim to have some fun with the dogs whilst teaching them some valuable life skills!

You will also receive a FREE bag of Feelwells Treats and a certificate and rosette after successful completion of the course.

What is included in this course?

You will receive a FREE bag of Feelwells  dog treats and an adult sample of Bob & Lush dog food. You will also receive a certificate and rosette after successful completion of the course.

Practical Sessions
Your dog is required for all practical sessions.

We don’t permit or advocate the use of aversive or punitive equipment or behaviour towards dogs in our classes. All of our training is reward based and relies upon positive reinforcement to teach our dog how we would like it to behave. We all would like a well behaved and obedient dog but you can’t blame the dog if you fail to train the dog! They need to be taught how to behave, they aren’t born knowing this!

Due to a particularly virulent strain of Kennel Cough, around at present, I would advise all clients to consider having their dog inoculated against this disease at least two weeks prior to attending classes. This is a subject best discussed with your own veterinarian. I am aware that this doesn’t prevent all strains of Kennel Cough but I feel that it may be a sensible precaution, although I’m happy for clients to take this decision themselves and not insist upon it. Protection against Kennel Cough is not part of a standard vaccination programme.

Classes have a maximum of twelve dogs in a class, to ensure that each dog gets the individual tuition they require but also that we have enough dogs to practice our exercises around. Some dogs will listen to their owners when in the home environment but not when out in the exciting, big, wide world! Our classes aim to address this.

Classes are designed to be fun and informative for the whole family and you are welcome to bring children to the classes and they can participate in training their dog. However, children shouldn’t be running around and distracting the other dogs or approaching any of the other dogs.

Previous clients are welcome to continue to purchase from our shop, even when they have finished training with us! We would ask that you either contact us with your shopping list and we will assemble your order ready for you or shop with us either prior to classes starting or at the end of the weekly sessions.
