Do you have a runaway on your hands? Does your dog turn ’deaf’ when you call them? Are walks becoming a chore?
Although training classes are a good starting point for training a recall, some dogs will need more work. If your dog falls into this category, my new recall classes could be just what you’re looking for.
The course will cover:
- The use of different equipment
- Good dog walking etiquette
- Teaching a recall
- Components of recall
- Recall with distractions
- Emergency stop
- Whistle training
- Giving permission to play
- How to avoid ‘triggering’ your dog to run away
You will also learn what motivates your dog, praise, food, toys or something else!
You will also receive a free 10 metre training line and goody bag!
The classes will take place on the training field as to replicate a park environment, irrespective of the weather! Handlers will need to ensure that they are dressed appropriately for the weather conditions, including footwear.
Dogs must be good with other dogs and people to attend this course.
Please don’t feed your dog prior to the class as it may cause a digestive upset as dogs will be running around and we may need them to be motivated to work for treats!
Monty is an extremely friendly border terrier who had appalling recall skills. Prior to attending the recall classes run by Caroline, walks with him were a challenge and not particularly enjoyable experiences for any of us. The lessons taught us some useful techniques, which we have continued to practise. Walks are enjoyed once more. In addition to the recall, the emergency “STOP!” has proved to be invaluable.
Thank you Caroline.Julie & Monty
