I see a lot of dogs, especially Staffies, with choke chains on, that are at the end of the lead pulling their owner wherever they want and making terrible breathing noises. When I ask the owner why they are using a choke chain, I am told: &quot;To stop them pulling&quot;.  

As a dog walker I often have to walk dogs whose owners normally use chains, but I will never use them.  All it takes is patience and consistency in most cases - it takes 5 to 10 minutes a day for a week - to get them not to pull without choke chains or halties. If  you are reading this and struggling with a choke chain, do your dog&#039;s neck and your own arm sockets a favour and join a training class!</description>
